Personal Disclosure Statement — Dream River Counseling
Dream River Counseling is proud to serve Oregonians with both teletherapy and in-person sessions at our Northeast Portland office.
If you are interested in becoming a new client, please contact Paul directly at paul@dreamrivercounseling.com or text 503-476-1171. Include your full name, phone number, and the type of services you are seeking. Paul will follow up and then send you a link to the client portal where you can complete paperwork and schedule appointments.
Dream River Counseling takes an eclectic approach to creating treatment plans, viewing the counseling process as a journey. Paul sees his role as walking alongside you — working together to set goals and facilitate meaningful change. It is important to use interventions and modalities that best serve your needs, and to adapt as those needs evolve over time.
Modalities used include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR for trauma therapy. Our approach is grounded in a holistic perspective, honoring the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of the therapeutic process. We also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) for clients who may have been resistant to other forms of treatment.
Dream River Counseling offers teletherapy — psychotherapy conducted remotely via computer, tablet, or smartphone. Teletherapy is beneficial for a wide range of clients and mental health services. Sessions function much the same as traditional in-person therapy, with the only significant difference being that the therapist and client are not in the same room.
Paul Randak holds a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University, a Master's in Transpersonal Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (Sofia University), and a Bachelor of Social Work along with a Certification in Addiction Counseling from the University of Utah. Paul also works extensively with Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and integration.

Paul is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) by the State of Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists and abides by its Code of Ethics. To maintain this license, Paul participates in continuing education relevant to the profession and engages in professional supervision and consultation groups with other licensed therapists and counselors.
Therapy is a unique type of relationship. People grow where they feel safe, and Paul abides by professional boundaries to protect clients. This includes not initiating contact outside the therapy context and not interacting with clients on social media to protect confidentiality.
As established by the Board's Code of Ethics, you have the right to:
| Service | Duration | Cash Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Individual Therapy | 60 minutes | $200 |
| Couples Therapy | 90 minutes | $300 |
| Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy | 90 minutes | $300 |
A sliding fee scale is available for clients in need, based on ability to pay. Most major insurance plans are accepted at their allowable rates.
If at any point during psychotherapy it becomes apparent that treatment is not effectively helping you reach your therapeutic goals, this will be discussed openly. If appropriate, treatment may be terminated with referrals provided to other qualified professionals. Other reasons for termination may include a conflict of interest, failure to pay fees on a timely basis, needs falling outside the scope of Paul's experience or training, or mutual agreement.
Termination is a significant part of any treatment process. While clients have the right to end therapy at any time, discussing termination in at least one final session is encouraged to ensure a healthy and constructive conclusion.
