Philosophy and approach: DRC take an eclectic approach when it comes to creating a treatment plan for my clients. DRC understand the counseling process to be a journey. I view my role as working alongside you in this journey, working to set goals and facilitate change. It is important to use interventions and modalities that will best serve your needs. DRC also understand that those needs can evolve and change, and learn to adapt to those changes. For that reason, DRC uses an array of modalities in my practice, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR for trauma therapy. DRC’s approach presents from a holistic perspective, keeping in mind the biological, psychological, social and spiritual dimensions are a part of the therapeutic process. DRC also offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy for those that may have been resistant to other forms of therapy to treatment, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression and Addiction problems.

Teletherapy: We offer Teletherapy which is psychotherapy done remotely from a computer, tablet or smart phone when you cannot come into our office for various reasons. Teletherapy is beneficial for a range of people and for a diverse set of mental health therapy services. Teletherapy sessions work much the same way as traditional therapy sessions with only one significant difference; the therapist and the client are not in the same room.

Formal training and education: Paul Randak, the primary therapist, has a broad educational experience with a MFT Masters from Northcentral University, a Masters in Transpersonal Psychology from ITP (Sofia University), and a BSW in Social Work along with a Certification in Addiction Counseling from the University of Utah. I have two decades of experience in individual, couples, family and group therapy. My specialities are working with anxiety, depression, addiction, mood, LGBTQ, trauma and personality disorders. I also work extensively with Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and Integration. Major coursework has included Human Growth and Development, Personality and Counseling Theories, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychopathology, Human Sexuality, Ethics, LGBTQ and Counseling Supervision.

Licensure: I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) by the state of Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists. I abide by its Code of Ethics. To maintain my license I am required to participate in continuing education, taking classes dealing with subjects relevant to this profession. I also participate in professional supervision and consultation groups with other licensed therapists and counselors in order to support my work with clients. Therapy is a unique type of relationship. People grow where they feel safe, therefore I will abide by professional boundaries to protect you as a client. I will not initiate contact outside of the therapy context or interact you on social media to protect your confidentiality. As a licensed therapist, I will abide by the Code of Ethics for counselors and therapists adopted by this Board.

Client Bill of Rights from the Code of Ethics: • To expect that a licensee has met the qualifications of training and experience required by state law: To examine public records maintained by the Board and to have the Board confirm credentials of a licensee To obtain a copy of the Code of Ethics (Oregon Administrative Rules 833-100); To report complaints to the Board; To be informed of the cost of professional services before receiving the services; To be assured of privacy and confidentiality while receiving services as defined by rule or law, with the following exceptions: 1. Reporting suspected child abuse. 2. Reporting imminent danger to you or others. 3. Reporting information required in court proceedings or by your insurance company, or other relevant agencies. 4. Providing information concerning licensee case consultation or supervision. 5. Defending claims brought by you against me. To be free from discrimination because of age, color, culture, disability, ethnicity, national origin, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, or socioeconomic status.

Fees: Standard cash pay for therapy is $175.00 per hour. For those clients in need, I offer a sliding fee based on clients ability to pay. I work with most insurance companies and charge their allowable rates. KAP session are 90 minutes and at a cash rate of $250.00

Termination: If at any point during psychotherapy, we find that we are not effective in helping a client reach his or her therapeutic goals, we will discuss this with you, and, if appropriate, terminate treatment. In such a case, we will provide appropriate referrals and even speak to the therapist of the client’s choice if her or she authorizes this in writing. Other reasons for termination include a conflict of interest developing, clients failing to pay the fee on a timely basis, clients’ needs which are outside of my experience or training, or by mutual agreement. Given that termination is a significant part of any treatment, it is important to plan for time to discuss and process termination. While clients have the right to terminate therapy at any time, they are encouraged to avoid abrupt endings by discussing termination in at least one final session.
